The fine print, in plain English.
Plain English. Last updated 14 May 2026.
These Terms cover your use of Haloop — the Lumo mobile app, our site at haloop.ai, and anything else we offer under the Haloop name. We’ve tried to write them like a person, not a lawyer. If something is unclear, email support@haloop.ai and we’ll explain.
1. Who you’re dealing with
You’re entering into this agreement with:
Haloop Pte. Ltd.
UEN: 202620083C
23-02 152 Beach Road
Singapore 189721
We’re a Singapore-incorporated company. We refer to ourselves as “Haloop”, “we”, or “us”. We refer to you as “you”.
2. When these Terms apply
These Terms apply whenever you use Haloop — the moment you create an account, install the app, submit a form on haloop.ai, or otherwise interact with our services. Using Haloop means you accept these Terms and our privacy notice. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use Haloop.
If you’re using Haloop on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. Haloop is in closed beta
Right now, Haloop is invite-only. That shapes a few things you should know going in:
- Beta access is free. We’ll tell you in advance if that changes.
- There’s no service-level guarantee. Things may break. Features may change or disappear. We may take the service offline for maintenance without notice.
- We may revoke beta access with 7 days’ written notice. We may revoke access immediately for material breach (abuse, illegal use, security risk, or anything that puts other users or the service at risk).
- What we publish today may not match what we publish at general availability. When we move out of beta, we’ll publish updated Terms and give you a chance to review them before they take effect.
4. Who can use Haloop
- You must be at least 18 years old. Haloop is built for working professionals managing real relationships; we don’t serve minors.
- One personal account per person. Don’t share credentials. You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- Keep your login safe. If you suspect someone else has accessed your account, tell us at support@haloop.ai immediately.
5. What Lumo does
Lumo is your relationship sidekick. Today, Lumo can:
- Remember the people you’ve met — names, context, conversations, things you’ve recorded about them.
- Notice cultural moments — surface birthdays, festivals, anniversaries, and dates that matter to people in your network.
- Help you draft a message when it’s time to say hi, in the language each contact prefers.
- Open WhatsApp with a pre-filled draft when you choose to send one. You decide whether to send.
Anything not listed above is either coming-soon or a longer-term vision. Don’t rely on Lumo doing more than what’s described here.
6. What Lumo does NOT do
To be explicit:
- Lumo does not send messages on your behalf. Every message leaves your device because you tapped Send in WhatsApp.
- We don’t share your contacts for advertising. Your network isn’t ad inventory.
- We don’t use your contacts, conversations, or personal data to train general-purpose AI models for anyone else. Your data trains Haloop for you, not the rest of the internet.
7. Your contacts and your content
- You own what you put in. Contacts you add, notes you write, drafts you save — that’s yours.
- You grant Haloop a limited licence to host, process, and display your content solely so we can provide the service to you. The licence ends when you delete the content or close your account (subject to brief technical retention windows described in the privacy notice).
- Uploading others’ info. When you add someone to Haloop, you’re sharing their personal data with us. You must have a reasonable basis to do so — typically your personal or professional relationship with that person, or their consent. You’re responsible for that basis under your local law.
- No selling, no public posting. Don’t use Haloop to sell databases of contacts, build commercial lead lists for resale, or publish private information about people without their consent.
8. About Lumo’s drafts
Lumo suggests; you decide.
Lumo’s drafts are AI-generated suggestions. They’re informed by your contact’s preferences and the context you’ve given, but they can still miss tone, get a fact wrong, or phrase something awkwardly. Always read a draft before sending it.
Lumo is a relationship sidekick, not a professional adviser. Don’t use Lumo’s drafts as medical advice, legal advice, financial advice, or for safety-critical communications. If the consequences of a message being wrong are serious, write it yourself or have it reviewed by a qualified human.
9. WhatsApp and other third-party services
Haloop works alongside services you already use:
- WhatsApp — sending happens inside WhatsApp on your device. You remain bound by WhatsApp’s terms. We have no control over what WhatsApp does with your message once it’s sent.
- Google and Apple sign-in — if you use them, you’re also bound by Google’s and Apple’s terms.
- App stores — your installation is also governed by the App Store or Play Store terms.
If any third-party service stops working, charges fees, or changes its rules, we’ll do our best to adapt — but we can’t guarantee uninterrupted compatibility.
10. What you can’t use Haloop for
Don’t:
- Spam, harass, or abuse anyone through Haloop or messages drafted with Lumo’s help.
- Scrape, mirror, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Probe for security holes outside an authorised disclosure programme (none today; email support@haloop.ai if you find one and we’ll talk).
- Upload illegal content or content that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Impersonate another person or organisation.
- Use Haloop to break the law in your jurisdiction or anyone else’s that has a real connection to your use.
We may suspend or terminate your access for any of the above, with or without notice depending on severity.
11. Intellectual property
- Haloop owns the platform. The Haloop name, the Lumo character, the logos, the code, the design, and the cultural-moment dataset we’ve assembled are all ours.
- You own your content. Nothing here transfers ownership of your contacts or drafts to us.
- Feedback you send us is ours to use. If you suggest a feature or send a bug report, we can build on it without owing you anything. We won’t identify you publicly without your okay.
12. Suspension and termination
- You can leave anytime. Delete your account in the app or by emailing support@haloop.ai. Data deletion follows the timeline in the privacy notice.
- We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, beta-program exit, or to comply with the law. 7 days’ notice in normal cases; immediate for material breach.
- What survives termination. The clauses on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and governing law continue to apply after your account is gone.
13. Beta disclaimers
Haloop is provided “as is” and “as available”. During the beta, that’s especially true. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don’t warrant that:
- The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- Lumo’s drafts will be accurate, appropriate, or successful at building relationships.
- The cultural-moment data will be complete or correct for every region or community.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 or other statutory rights that can’t be waived under Singapore law.
14. Limit on what we owe you
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost contracts, lost relationships, or lost data — even if we knew or should have known they were possible.
- Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Haloop is capped at S$100, in aggregate, regardless of the cause of action.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain liability limits. If yours doesn’t, the limits above apply to the maximum extent permitted by your local law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Haloop, our directors, employees, and contractors against any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your misuse of Haloop,
- Content you uploaded that infringes someone’s rights or violates the law, or
- Your breach of these Terms.
16. Privacy
How we handle personal data is governed by our privacy notice. Read it — it’s also in plain English.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or in-app before the changes take effect. Minor changes (typos, clarifications, link fixes) may go live without notice.
If you keep using Haloop after a material change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don’t accept them, please stop using Haloop and close your account.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Haloop is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
If you’re a consumer in another jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under your local law that these Terms can’t override.
